KOIS developed a health-focused blended finance roadmap for USAID. The roadmap layed out a structured approach for engaging in such transactions in the domain of healthcare. In the scope of this project, KOIS also tested the approach in 3 countries: India, Tanzania and Liberia.

Recent studies tend to show that the homeless population suffering from severe mental illness and facing justice are very likely to experience a street – prison – hospital “revolving door” phenomenon. This generates recurring costs for the justice and the health systems as well as a human cost for the person. To offer a solution to this issue, Médecins du Monde aims to offer a jail diversion programme in Marseille. The NGO turned to KOIS for the structuring of a Social Impact Bond to support the project.

Almost a billion children live in countries where the SDGs remain out of reach. They lack access to healthy food and nutrition, proper healthcare, high-quality primary eduction, safe drinking water and sanitation services, as well as protection from violence & harmful practices.

Many organizations already work to advance children rights worldwide. However, they face a range of challenges calling for a targeted financing approach.

In this scope, UNICEF mandated KOIS to explore innovative mechanisms that could attract capital from diverse sources. The aim of the deployed capital would be to support innovative social enterprises.

Sight issues creates problems from social exclusion, to difficulty to integrate the job market and to access education. These can be exacerbated in developing countries. Yet, 75% of the visually impaired have a preventable or treatable condition. To help in solving this issue, Light for the World sets up ophthalmologic clinics in developing countries. In this context, LFTW engaged KOIS to support the scale-up of their activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In response, Canada World Youth and KOIS decide to partner. Together, we explored the feasibility and relevance of a blended finance mechanism focused on young women unemployment issues and their livelihoods.
