Actiris IOD: Recruitment without discrimination to help low-skilled long-term unemployed people find stable jobs

In the Brussels region, there are close to 60,000 long-term (more than 24 months) unemployed people. This can have devastating effects. Long-term unemployment causes persistent poverty and reduces self-esteem. In addition, it comes at a high societal cost.

Financing sustainable land use: Unlocking business opportunities in sustainable land use with blended finance

With the help of the IKEA foundation anNear East Foundation, we supported the scale-up of a vocational training and start-up grants programme. The project aims to target up to 9,000 refugees in Jordan and Lebanon through a Development Impact Bond.

Menstrual Hygiene Management in Africa and India

Menstrual Hygiene Management in Africa and India

Menstruation is a key component of a woman’s life. Yet, menstrual hygiene management (MHM) remains a taboo in many cultures. Together with WSCCC, KOIS conducted a feasibility study to explore the relevance of a Development Impact Bond in India. Based on this work, KOIS then also partnered with AFD to structure a second DIB on the same topic, this time in Ethiopia and Niger. The objective of the DIBs is to empower adolescent girls by implementing a holistic MHM programme, comprised of three interventions.
